Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt is a beacon of hope and healing. In their moments of greatest need, families find a place of compassion, a place of discovery―a place where our community turns for care. Children’s Hospital is a nationally recognized provider of pediatric health care services with more than 400 physicians trained in 30 pediatric and surgical specialties and is a top-tier teaching and research facility. Children’s Hospital is readying for structural growth that will add four new inpatient floors through the Growing to New Heights Campaign. This expansion, anticipated to open in 2018, will help advance the size and scope of our mission of excellence in patient care, research and training.
In June 2016, Children’s Hospital was named one of the nation’s best Children’s Hospitals and ranked in 10 out of 10 possible pediatric specialty programs by U.S. News and World Report for the 10th year in a row. These rankings include Children’s Hospital’s childhood cancer program, a collaboration between the Vanderbilt Department of Pediatrics, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. The childhood cancer program is dedicated to providing the most promising therapies and advancing research in all types of childhood cancers.
When a child comes to Children’s Hospital for cancer care, families find dedicated professionals working together to provide the most comprehensive approach to treatment and lifelong support for survivors. This includes experts from all pediatric health areas impacting childhood cancer, as well as researchers working daily to translate discoveries into cutting-edge treatments. Because of our commitment to compassionate care, innovative research and professional training of the next generation of physicians specializing in childhood cancer, we are better equipped to serve children in our community while extending the body of medical knowledge for colleagues everywhere.
